Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This dryer is designed to be a direct replacement for a conventional electric dryer where 30 amp, 240 volt is the norm. But I run mine on a 15 amp, 240 volt circuit which is connected to an off grid solar inverter with no issues. I have measured the current on my unit and and it is never over 3.2 amp. The 30 amp circuit requirement is overkill; I suspect that is to reduce the liability if in the future some one plugs in a conventional electric dryer. It does take twice as long to dry clothes but when the electricity is free who cares. I don't think it will run on 120 volts, but I don't have any information on the inverter.

Please try again later.The dryer has its own terminal block that must be connected to a separate 240 VAC, 60-Hertz, single-phase circuit, fused at 30 amperes (the circuit must be fused on both sides of the line). ELECTRICAL SERVICE FOR THE DRYER SHOULD BE OF THE MAXIMUM RATE VOLTAGE LISTED ON THE NAMEPLATE. DO NOT CONNECT THE DRYER TO 110-, 115-, OR 120-VOLT CIRCUIT. Use a 30-amp, 240-volt, 4-wire, UL-listed power cord with #10 AWG-minimum copper conductor and closed loop or forked terminals with upturned ends. ^Daphane
