“I understand it need not be vented but are we able to vent it rather than have to empty the reservoir?”

• You don’t vent the machine in anyway. What you do is empty the reservoir where the water removed from the clothing in the dryer is collected. You can have the dryer connected to a hose (provided w the dryer) to a drain. Then u don’t have to empty the reservoir.
