I asked this question last year when I was still using the older version of this machine. I have since decided to upgrade to the newer version and almost a year later I am very pleased! I do still get wrinkled long items (jeans, khakis) if I overload the washer, so the secret is I wash my jeans and khakis separately from my main loads.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are several reasons as to why and how clothes come out "terribly wrinkled" from your LG WM3988HWA and how that could also happen with the LG Front Load Washer / Dryer Combo, Model # WM3997HWA. Ideally, when you load garments into either one of these washers, or any washer for that matter, you should leave enough room for the clothes to be able to tumble freely. When washing garments like sheets, jeans, pants etc., the best way to load them would be to stretch them out prior to loading them then arranging them loosely around the agitator. If the load is too big, the clothes do not stretch out and tend to bunch up so that when you dry them, the wrinkles set into the garments. Keep in mind that both the WM398HWA and the WM399HWA are combo units which means that the wash capacity is twice that of the drying capacity. If you wash a full load, then you will need to take half the load out for drying. Again, if the load is too big, the clothes bunch up since they cannot tumble freely. Leaving the clothes for too long after drying can also leave the clothes wrinkled. You can try timing the dryer to leave the clothes very slightly damp and as you take them out from the dryer, stretch them out. You should also try washing smaller loads...^IFV
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The wrinkles suggest the drum is full - fine for washing, but compromises performance of the dryer. A newer model would suffer the same limitation, dryers work best when the drum is half full or less.
