“How well does auto sensing for the correct water level work? And will the hot water setting allow hot water to fill the machine? My current machine has the hot water setting but it manipulates the water temp so it is not truly hot to save energy.”

the machine lid is always locked so I can't tell how hot it gets

Your hot water heater should be set to deliver water at 120 - 135°F (48 - 57°C) to allow the washer to properly control wash temperatures. ^Daphane
