• I only wash with cold water as well. My hot water intake is always turned off and that does not seem to have any effect on the machine. At installation I told the technician and he just turned off the hot water.

• The washer has cold water setting. About turning off the hot connection would be a question directly to the company. My washer was set up by delivery guys. I use the cold water setting but haven't put my hand in it to test.
