The washer on the Energy Star® Certified LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Front Load Washer and 7.4 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer WashTower™ with Steam and Built-In Intelligence - White, Model # WKE100HWA, does not plug into the dryer. The washer is equipped with a power cord whose plug must be plugged into a 120 V, 60 Hz 3-wire grounding receptacle. The dryer has has its own terminal block that must be connected to a separate 240 VAC, 60-Hertz, single-phase circuit, fused at 30 amperes (the circuit must be fused on both sides of the line). The power cord (pigtail) connection between the wall receptacle and the dryer terminal block IS NOT supplied with the dryer and will have to be purchased separately. The type of pigtail and gauge of wire must conform to your local codes, or in their absence, with the latest edition of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70. You must contact a qualified electrician to check your home’s wiring and fuses to ensure that your home has adequate electrical power to operate the dryer. Depending on what your local codes dictate, you can use a 30-amp, 240-volt, 3-wire, or 4-wire, UL-listed power cord with #10 AWG-minimum copper conductor and closed loop or forked terminals with upturned ends for the dryer. A 3-wire connection is NOT permitted on new construction after January 1, 1996, and a 4-wire connection is required for new branch-circuit installations where grounding through the neutral conductor is prohibited, and in areas where local codes prohibit grounding through the neutral conductor...^Ivan.
