The dryer for this ENERGY STAR® Certified LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Front Load Washer and 7.4 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer WashTower™ with Steam and Built-In Intelligence - White, Model # WKE100HWA, has to be vented to the outside like a gas dryer. All types of clothes dryers, including electric ones, should be vented outside of the home. While an electric clothes dryer doesn't expel carbon monoxide like its gas counterpart, there are large amounts of moist air and lint coming out of your electric dryer, both of which can severely damage your home if they accumulate. This is a single unit that cannot be disassembled to use as a side-by-side unit, so it still requires a minimum 4" installation clearance spacing in the rear to ensure sufficient clearance for the water inlet hoses, the drain hose, and airflow around the unit. You should also consider additional clearance spacing for wall, door, or floor moldings that may increase the required clearances...^Ivan.
