If you look at the Extra Rinse button on the control panel for ENERGY STAR® Certified LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Stackable Front Load Washer with 6Motion™ Technology - White, Model # WM3400CW, you will see *Pre-wash. Anything with an asterisk under another function button means that the function with the asterisk is a secondary function, so the pre-wash is the secondary function for the Extra Rinse function and to activate it, you need to press and hold the Extra Rinse button for three seconds. You can finc these instructions on page 27 in your owner's manual under 'Pre-wash'...^Ivan.
