Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It’s not required. But I leave mine open about 3-4 inches overnight. I think the drawer where detergent etc is loaded is more of an issue. But again, leave it open for a day or until it’s dry. Standard for any front loader. If you want to close them, I would recommend a cleansing rinse to clear out the scum that may accumulate. I’ve never had a problem with bacteria or mold growth.
