• No, you don’t NEED a pedestal. It just makes life easier and helps you by not having to bend over farther. Your back will thank you.

• No, it’s just easier on your back not to have to bend down that extra five or six inches to pull out wet laundry and deal with dryer laundry. more easily. With my back problems, I am in favor of anything that lessens the stress on it. The storage feature adds a place to keep dryer sheets or whatever.
