• I always use the speed wash and when I opened the door the water did not run out. Not sure about the other cycles!

• The User Guide does state that you can press Add garment while the cycle is running and once complete press start pause to resume the cycle. ^Daphane

• I have a different front loading LG washer. I have paused a cycle to add an item many times. High efficiency machines do not use an excessive amount of water, so this is not a problem. Any loose water is well below the door level.
