I am not sure what "reservoir" you are talking about. When the wash is done there are only wet clothes at the bottom. When I move them to the dryer the drum is wet but no pool of water in the drum bottom. If there is you should get it fixed.

Detergent can gradually buildup in the detergent tray and its attachments over time. If these are not cleaned regularly, the water and additives will not dispense fully and water will remain in the compartments. The maintenance section on page 36 of your owner's manual has explicit instructions for how to clean the Detergent Dispenser Drawer...^IFV
