“I just got this machine installed today and it’s loud! Is this normal? It sounds like a broken washer, awful. I put it on high in the spin cycle and I had to turn it off, started shaking even moved out its place. Is this normal or did I get a lemon?”

Thats not normal, if its pretty loud and shaky then I believe the installation guy has forgot to remove the big bolts on the back of the washer which are supposed to be removed.

Four tech visits later and two different washers later, they blamed it on the leveling of the washer the first few times. After they leveled it twice, the machine sounded like a freight train and literally needed to be held down. We were assigned a “case agent” who then blamed our floor’s leveling (without ever seeing our floor, or knowing we were in a brand new home). We were at our wits end and ready for a new set altogether. Then a worker from our local Best Buy told us that this was a common problem with this washer because (1) front loaders vibrate more than top loaders and (2) the pedestals we added increase the height, but also increase the instability of the washer, especially at the beginning and ending of the spin cycle. She then told us that the only remedy to this issue (besides replacing them) was buying anti vibration pads for each of the washer legs. She recommended we go to Lowe’s (appliance dept) and look for “Shake Away” anti vibration pads. They are made specifically for front loaders with shaking issues. We found them, paid the $35 for them and never looked back. These multi layer rubber pads work amazing. It was obvious that the Best Buy worker had seen this issue before and knew how to fix it.

The first thing you will want to check is to make sure that the shipping bolts in the back of the washing machine have been removed. Unfortunately, installers forget to remove them when they install the washer and that can cause severe vibration and noise which can lead to permanent damage to the washer. Page 11 of your owenr's manual shows you the location of the shipping bolts in the back of the washer. As mentioned in a previous post, the washer must be installed on firm flooring to minimize vibration during the spin cycle. Concrete flooring is best, but a wood floor is sufficient, provided it is built to FHA standards. The floor must also be strong and rigid enough to support the weight of the washer, even when fully loaded, without flexing or bouncing. If the floor has too much flex, you may need to reinforce it to make it more rigid. If the floor is not solid, it may cause severe vibration and noise. Before installing the washer, make sure the floor is clean, dry and free of dust, dirt, water and oil so the washer feet cannot slide easily. Leveling feet that can move or slide on the floor can contribute to excess vibration and noise due to poor contact with the floor. This is where the anti vibration pads help. The leveling legs on the washer should not be raised unnecessarily as that may also cause excessive vibrations and noise. The allowable slope under the entire washer is a maximum 1 inch (2.5 cm) difference from side to side or from front to back. The machine should never be installed on carpeting or on soft tile surfaces...^IFV

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.After 1 week of using I had exactly same symptoms. Stop using it and call a technician immediately! I just have a visit from the GURU and he diagnosed the problem as either: faulty water switch or problem with the computer! One indicator of the problem was that the clock stopped at the 11 minutes mark and the machine would continuously load up on water making the drum would become to heavy thus vibrations, and "jumping" of the machine.
