A:Answer Nope. Very quiet and minimal shaking when properly leveled. As for cleaning, it's a stainless steel tub, so you just run a clean cycle (additives or bleach) to clean the interior. The dispenser is plastic and removable, so you can wash it in the sink. Once the dispenser is removed, there's a large hole to get a dish brush or rag into with your hand, but it doesn't get very dirty in there. Do remember to keep the dispenser open for air drying after you're done, though. Mildew can form inside there, otherwise.
The rubber seal around the door is the thing most people familiar with top-loaders screw up. That seal catches a lot of water, as does the door itself. You MUST wipe it down and let it air dry with the door open or you'll wind up with mold/mildew and a smell. We picked up what they call a "front load washer door prop", which will hold the door open at whatever angle you want (so it's open, but still out of the way).
We also have one for the dryer because the mix of winter air coming through the exterior vent (if not closing properly) and the heat of the house can cause condensation to form in the drum when closed.
