Can this TV display closed captions? null

The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG - 40" Class - (40" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - HDTV - Black, Model # 40LH5300 does display Closed Captions. All TVs are required by the Television Decoder Circuitry Act of 1990 which was passed by Congress in 1991 and expanded by the Telecommunications Act of 1996 which also expanded on the Decoder Circuity Act to place the same requirements on digital television receivers since July 1, 2002. On August 5, 2010, the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act requires, in part, for ATSC-decoding set-top box remotes to have a button to turn on or off the closed captioning in the output signal and also requires broadcasters to provide captioning for television programs redistributed on the Internet...^IFV
