Hi Beth. Please contact the DIRECTV Customer Service at 1-800-531-5000 to inquire about their services and how the Genie works. The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG - 43" Class (42.5" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV - Gray/Black, Model # 43UH6030 is not a DIRECTV Ready TV that has the RVU technology built in that lets you enjoy DIRECTV service and HD DVR functionality without a receiver. You will need a Genie Mini but they can explain that in more detail...^IFV
