Another person answered 29 inches, but that is incorrect. I used a metal tape measure to carefully check my brand new 43LJ500M, immediately after I attached the legs. The distance from the outside of one leg to the outside of the other leg is exactly 30 inches. Accuracy is important for those of us, like me, who have a television stand that was made for a 40 inch television. Also, for those of us, like me, who want to know if the box the television comes in will fit in their vehicle, the dimensions of the box are 41 and 1/2 inches by 25 inches by 6 and 5/8 inches. That barely fit in the trunk of my mid-sized car.
