It's not enabled by default, so there's no need to do so normally. If you have enabled it, you can certainly disable it through the system settings.

We understand your question regarding controlling the voice assistant functionality on your OLED48B5PUA TV. Yes, you absolutely have control over the features that allow the TV to be "always listening." On the OLED48B5PUA, the two main features related to the TV listening for voice commands are the Hands-free Voice Control (which listens for the wake-up phrase like "Hi LG") and the Always Ready mode. You can disable the always-listening functionality by navigating through the TV settings: Go to Settings (Gear Icon on the remote) → All Settings. Navigate to General → AI Service → Voice Recognition Settings. From here, you should be able to turn off the setting for Hands-free Voice Control (or similar "Use Hands-free Voice Control"). Additionally, you should disable the Always Ready feature, which is listed as "Yes" in the specs for this model. This mode allows the TV to maintain certain functions, like voice control, even when the screen is off. You would typically find this under Settings → General → Always Ready (or potentially under AI Service), where you can toggle it to Off. By turning off these settings, the voice assistant will only activate when you press the microphone button on the Magic Remote itself. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-48-class-b5-series-oled-ai-4k-uhd-smart-webos-tv-2025/JJ8VPZTK9F If you have any further questions about managing the settings of your OLED48B5PUA, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be more than happy to assist you. —Renzo
