Even if you are able to get settings that people usually post online, you will probably have to tweak them to your environment and to the source you're will watching. That is why a proper calibration is the only way to get the best picture on the TV. Done correctly, a calibration takes into account the environment and the source. Even within the same house, no two rooms will have the same settings and the settings will not be the same for your cable box as they are for a Blu-Ray Player.
