“What is the distance from to door hinge to the back of the machine? I have a low shelf that protrudes 13 inches so I am trying to figure out how far the washer would have to be from the back wall so that the door could open fully.”

The distance from the back of the machine to the lid hinge is about 10 inches. Note that when the lid is fully open, it is not vertical but leaning towards the back of the machine by a few degrees. So you would probably have to move the machine about 4 inches or so from the back wall so the lid can open fully.
