Yes you can but the pan must be sufficient in size and needs to be fixed to the drain hose to avoid spillage during the washer drain cycle. Also it must not be over 96 inches above the bottom of the washer to allow proper draining and aiso keep the drain hose out of the water level that is building during the drain cycle.
