“Is there supposed to be a styrofoam ring on the bottom of this washer? My washer is making noise and i used a flashlight to look under the machine and noticed a thin circular piece of styrofoam that is in the bottom of the tub. Supposed to be there or no?”

No, the styrofoam ring on the bottom is for packing and should be removed during installation.
