“Because the grate is cast iron does it need to be trated with cooking oil and such? Is the grate dishwasher safe?”

• The manual suggests to hand wash stating the dishwasher could change the appearance of the cast iron. You do not have to season it but you do have to use butter or oil on the griddle but not the grates.
