“Does this TV come shipped with a screen protective cover that needs to be peeled off before use? The one I just purchased appears to have a layer on top of the glass but it doesn't seem to be removable.”

Some TVs may have protective film on the bezels or other non-display components during shipping, but the screen itself should be free from any removable film. If it seems like there’s a layer on the display, it could simply be the screen's natural coating or finish designed to reduce glare or enhance picture quality. Attempting to remove it could damage the TV.
