You can connect a DVD player or VCR to the TV. You will need an HDMI to TCA adapter to connect a VCR because the TV does not have AV inputs. ^Daphane

I purchased a LG Blu-ray player to go with my LG UP7000 TV because my granddaughter has her favorite DVD's that she likes to watch. I originally bought a different DVD player that was not Blu-ray and it was not compatible with the TV, it had the cables that needed to be plugged into the back of the TV and the TV is not made for connections like this. I returned that player and purchased the LG Blu-ray player and a cable to plug it into the back of the TV and it works great.
