You can absolutely connect your DirecTV set-top box to this tv. Your Direct tv should have an HDMI output. Just plug an HDMI cable into the DirecTV box HDMI output and plug the other end into one of the HDMI inputs on the TV. The TV will recognize the connection automatically.

Yes—absolutely you can use Directv and stream. That is what I do. It’s easy to go back and forth between the two options. If you had watched Directv before turning the tv off, then that’s is what will be playing the next time you turn it on. Switching to one of the streaming apps like Netflix, prime or appletv+ is very simple to do with the remote. Hope this helps.
