There is no such thing as making your 1080p movies into 4k. The format that the picture was produced in is what it plays back in. A 1080p TV will not play the 4k content without downscaling to 1080, but it doesn't work the opposite way. This unit does scale 1080 content to be the same size as your display, but its not 4k, unless its produced in 4k.
