The most efficient and effective temperature range for a heat pump is typically around 50 – 65 degrees F, with some effectiveness in the 40s and even down into the 30s. However, once the temperature drops below 32 degrees F, there may be a significant drop in the heating ability of the heat pump. The heat pump should still be able to provide efficient heating at temperatures above -13°F, but its efficiency may be compromised when temperatures drop below this range.
