It has a bar that lights up beneath each burner, showing the relative intensity. I think this is what you mean. It has a special setting to show when it is on the "ultra heat" fast-boil option. Note that you can't use ultra-heat on more than one burner at a time. You can have all the burners on, but you can't use Ultra Heat on all at once. But, that function is really only for boiling water.
