No. It pushes up flush against the wall. HOWEVER, you might want to make sure that the backsplash covers the entire space behind the range... and down a couple inches so that it will end out of sight (below the back/top of the range). My previous range had all the controls, clock, etc. on a "panel" that made the back height of the range about six inches higher. I needed to make sure my backsplash was continuous behind that control panel, because that area is exposed with this type of range.
