“Has anyone had a problem with the black finish flaking or peeling? I understand the black is just a thin coating over stainless steel. I've read numerous people outraged at the flaking and I'm wondering if this LG model is prone to that?”

This hasn’t happened to us YET. We did notice a small mark on our dishwasher that has the same finish. While the finish is the most beautiful I’ve seen, you have to be careful though. Too late for me now because we bought 4 appliances with this finish. Like how no fingerprints show up. So far we love them.

Yes, the finish on mine is coming off around the bottom corners after 1 1/2 years. My extended warranty does not cover it but I will be checking with LG>
