That Door is made of plastic. We've had our LG mini frig now for almost 6 months and LOVE it as a beverage frig. We keep our extra ice cubes in there and the product itself is great.

From the illustration in the manual it appears there is a door flap. The freezer compartment is designed for making ice and for short-term storage of already frozen food. The temperature in the compartment may not get cold enough to freeze fresh food or to store foods such as ice cream safely. ^Daphane
