does the picture go all way to the end of hole tv null

This smart T.V. has shown me within its 1/2in frame of viewing, it has used it's LED screen to its fullest. Even in some news programs which sometimes over magnify and cuts off some words. Now there are movies on Netflix and others which are letter boards. They are just that. (Letter board; black screen top and bottom w/ program in between).
