From what I've seen with it the "burn in" isn't really an issue. Is it there? Yes, but unless you make it a point to actually go and look you will NOT notice it. Also it is NOT permanent. Normal viewing will not be an issue for most. I was concerned for the same issue and I can happily say it isn't a real issue. The pros heavily outweigh this one minor setback.

The screen savers kick on and the panel dims when an image is being left on the screen. Have had no issue with burn in at all. FYI- I noticed that with VUDU and maybe some other apps, it appears to have burn in on the menus, but it is their software, when you select the movie or show, the screen returns with no image retention, just a weird method that VUDU uses to display the shows and movies information in front of the "ghost images behind".
