Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I attached a piece of 2 inch aluminum angle (painted black) to the bottom front edge of the mantle, the same length as the mantle. The heat "funnels" to both ends of the mantle keeping the heat off the TV. It also looks great since my fireplace has a black metal natural gas insert.
