Both. Consumer Reports has a good set of pics of the back of the unit. It has 2 USB and 2 HDMI "sideways" and 2 HDMI, coax, ethernet, optic, etc "straight out" and further away from the edge of the unit. Therefore the sideways ports are closer to the edge for easier access. I have mine wall mounted and not on a arm so I have my "never to be moved" connections on the straight out ports and the transient plug-ins on the sideways. https://www.consumerreports.org/products/lcd-led-oled-tvs/lg-oled65b7a-393174/overview/
