• It passes Dolby or Dolby plus. When auto is selected, it passes whatever is input. Connect it to a Dolby signal, it’ll pass it. No conversion takes place.

• The sound stays true it definitely does not dumb it down! I have mine hooked up to a high-end 4K receiver that’s a 7.1 surround home theater system and the output for the TV stays True there is no dumbing down or decrease in quality.
