“I had one of the BB reps tell me this unit is best for Gaming/Movies (4K only). Not so much for everyday use like Direct TV in a living room. His points were around processing speed/brightness issues. What is your experience or regular viewing, not 4K?”

I would disagree on the everyday DirecTV use. I have Directv and picture quality is amazing. I did upgrade my Directv equipment to 4K which is free right now. Also, cool feature with this TV is to add Directv stations to the LGs favorite channels list so you jump to them very quickly and even see the Directv guide via the LG TV guide.

This set is hands-down better than anything else there is. The blacks are deeper, the colors are vibrant and the brightness is fine, and we have it in a brightly lit room with many windows. The default settings of the TV have the power saving features on, which drops the brightness significantly. We turned that off and had to dial back the brightness. It's 100% even - far better than a typical LED set.
