No scratches but yes they get bumped and do turn on easy
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven't had issues with scratches yet. The knobs do stick out and turn on easily. We have leaned up against them and bumped in to them and had them turn on. It does beep when they turn on to notify you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the 4415BD for 2 months and have been very careful, as I always am w/smoothtop ranges, so I have no scratches so far. Knobs on the front are exactly as people have described, being knocked On w/minimal contact. Everyone who works around this appliance managed to turn on burners, which is disturbing, but I knew about it when I bought it. There are no children in the house, so I can live w/it, knowing this will happen. If you have kids, even older ones, you'd want to remove the knobs, because they turn on so very easily and could be burning for hours unless you happened to hear the slight "tick" sound as a burner starts to heat up. I did take off the knobs and tried turning the stalks and could not, so that should solve the problem if you don't mind the appearance of a knobless range. I personally don't recommend this range due to its poor oven performance.
