“Does need a hood vent. I currently have a down draft range that needs replaced. The location is in a center island that has no hood vent and no way of installing one”

• A, I thought that initially as well but that is only a vent for the oven fumes/heat to come up through. You do need to either by an range hood or an additional downdraft accessory for this range. The oven fan is not enough to get rid of steam and smoke.
