“Do I have a defective tv? I bought this LG a few days ago and I can seem to get the picture how I like. Vivid is nice but can be way too bright/white. Vivid is intense, standard and game is slightly dimmer And the rest are a variation of sepia.”

It just needs to be calibrated properly. TVs come with their settings set to factory defaults , but to get the most out of your TV, you can improve those settings depending on the environment that the TV is installed in and according to your personal taste. You would need to access the picture settings by selecting Menu > Settings > More > Picture.
