In the good old days the CRT ( cathode ray picture tube) had a red gun, a green gun, and a blue gun. These were combined in various ways to make the different colors on the CRT screen, including white. When you looked at a CRT screen with a magnifying glass, all you would see is red, green, and blue dots. Not sure is this flat screen produces a white pixel or if it works like a CRT. Hope this helps.
