The TV has a feature called ABL. Automatic Brightness Limiter. This kicks in IF the picture stays at a consistently high brightness in a static or continuous scene to prevent burn in. Check the settings to see if it can be adjusted. It MAY just be too sensitive. This may not be the problem, just suggesting it might.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not an answer to the question but I now have the same issue... the TV is only 91 days old! black screen but did have sound, then the screen starting flicking on and off uncontrollably. and not the entire screen, just sections of it... and very fast... I took video, but I do not want a TV that does this or even a repaired TV. LG needs to step up to replace with a brand new one! 91 days old!!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A black screen with sound on your TV might also be caused by issues with the TV's input source. To check the input source; Check all the input devices and ensure that they are all connected well to the TV. Take one device and connect it to a different port to see if it works.
