If you want to be safe, buy an HDMI that supports 8k. Although this TV does not support 8k, it does support 4k@120hz. The 8k HDMI will support both 8k and 4k@120hz formats as well as other features (e.g. eARC, HDR) without issue. They are priced not much higher than lower-grade HDMI's, so no real reason not to go for the safer option.
