Hi, there! Thanks for reaching out — it’s great that you’re checking compatibility for your LG External Drive (AP70NS50) with your 2020 MacBook Pro with the M1 chip. This external DVD writer is compatible with macOS, including M1‑based MacBooks, as long as you use a USB‑C to USB‑A adapter since the drive connects via USB‑A. You can explore the full feature list and support details here: https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-8x-external-double-layer-dvdrw-cd-rw-supermulti-blade-drive-silver/J7Y69525Y6.
