Is this compatible with a 2020 MacBook Pro? null

You’ll need to either use a USB-C to USB-A dongle or use a USB-C/Thunderbolt hub that offers a USB-A port on it. Though LG claims you need to connect it directly to the computer, I used it successfully connected to a USB3 hub that was connected to my Belkin Thunderbolt 2 dock that is connected to my 2015 retina MacBook Pro 15 (I like just plugging in the Magsafe for Power and the Thinderbolt 2 cable for all of my connections at my desk).

You need a Mini Usb to USB-C Cable as per LG. The mini USB connector end goes to the DVD and the USB-C End goes to your MACBOOK. LG does not recommend using a USB to USB-C Dongle due to possible noise pickup. As Electronics Engineer with over 40 years experience I would recommend going straight cable between devices for best EMC. Hope this helps.
