Hello, there! Thanks for reaching out with your question about the LG External Drive (SP80NB80). To answer your question, no--it is not compatible with Android phones, This external drive supports Microsoft Windows 10/8.1/8/7/Vista/XP and Mac OS X only. It will work for your laptop as long as it meets the supported Windows or macOS versions, but it cannot function as a CD/DVD interface for an Android device. You can explore the full feature list and support details here: https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-8x-external-usb-double-layer-dvdrw-cd-rw-drive-black/JXTZZLCVZK.
