What connectivity does your Samsung Chromebook have, and which Chrome OS version does it have? The LG 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - Black, Model # SP80NB80, connects to external devices via its micro USB port and receives its power from the USB port. Chrome OS does not natively support DVD playback. The operating system lacks built-in DVD playback software, and there is no way to play DVDs directly without third-party applications or external DVD drives. While some experimental support for DVD playback may be available in Chrome OS version 69 and later, it is not guaranteed on all devices. Users can connect an external DVD drive or use third-party media players like VLC to enable DVD playback on their Chromebooks. We strongly suggest you contact Samsung to inquire if your Chromebook is compatible with external DVD optical drives. It if is, they should have a list of compatible optical drives...^Ivan.
