I didn’t need to install anything in my MacBook Pro to use it. You will need an application according to what do you want to do with it. I use iTunes to import some music and was able to access the disk using Finder too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I plugged mine into a Lenova & it worked fine. It may have downloaded a driver automatically from the internet. I forget. It came with an installation CD.
