We understand your inquiry regarding the features of the LG Slim DVD Writer, Model #SP80NB80. To answer your question, "Double Layer" (often abbreviated as DL in the specifications) refers to the drive's capability to read and write to DVD discs that have two recordable layers on the same side. This allows the disc to hold approximately twice the amount of data (usually 8.5 GB) compared to a standard single-layer disc. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-8x-external-usb-double-layer-dvdrw-cd-rw-drive-black/JXTZZLCVZK If you have any further questions about its features, please contact us on [email protected], and our team will be more than happy to assist you. —Renzo
